The International Design Seminar Brasil Telecom Identidade / Identity will have as its main objective the discussion of cultural identities inserted in the process of design. With the identity motto, the antagonist regional/global pair can be approached as well as some issues derived from contemporaneity itself, such as handicraft as a counterpoint to the industry, tradition as a counterpoint to innovation, and Brazilian creativity in relation to the imagery of other places in the planet.
For Identidade / Identity, designers, journalists, critics, editors, architects, artists, politicians, and entrepreneurs from various countries will show paths that have been made by design and history itself, reflected in the mosaic of foreign cultures and in the problem of regional contrasts: mirror of the reality of “central” countries and “peripheral” countries.
Finally, to speak of design will mean to delve into universes of confrontation and union, marked by a new imaginary bridge – both cultural and commercial – between Brazil and abroad, finding possible horizons for exchange of a new, different development.
